Riding a motorcycle isn’t just about the wind in your face or the thrill of the open road, it’s also about the relationship you build with your bike and the people who keep it running smoothly. For many riders, that relationship starts with the dealership where they purchase their beloved machines. As a proud owner of both a Tiger 900 Rally PRO and a Scrambler 1200XC, I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing the Triumph dealership network first-hand. And let me tell you, the consistency in quality across different Triumph dealerships has been nothing short of impressive.
When it comes to buying a motorcycle, the dealership experience can make all the difference. From the moment you walk through the doors, you want to feel welcomed, valued, and confident in your decision. And that’s exactly what I’ve found at every Triumph dealership I’ve visited. I even had a pleasant experience when I purchasing remotely too.
My journey with Triumph began when I decided to jump on the adventure bike bandwagon and buy a Tiger 900 Rally Pro. After doing my research on the plethora of adventure bikes on the market, I found myself at my local Triumph dealership, Staffordshire Triumph, test riding the different Tiger models.

Now this is a dealership that exuded professionalism and passion for the brand, the sales team were knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely interested in helping me find the perfect bike for my needs. However, as this was just after the global pandemic, a time when new bikes were scarce, it complicated things. Despite my willingness to purchase from Staffordshire Triumph, the lead times were just too long, so I had to try and find something in stock. A few weeks after my local test rides and the right Tiger popped up, but in Lancashire. So, off I headed to Youles in Blackburn to make the purchase but all the time feeling somewhat guilty after the team at my local dealership had put in all the hard work. Nevertheless, the purchase process was a breeze with Youles, and before you know it, I was riding home on my shiny new Triumph Rally Pro.
Fast forward 2 years and the bug for a new bike struck me again, at first I was going to opt for the facelifted Tiger 900, but there was still an itch for a new naked bike (after I have sold my BMW R9T). The Triumph Scrambler 1200 seemed to fit the bill and off I went again to arrange test rides with the guys at Staffordshire Triumph.
As you can read in my blog “Why I bought a Scrambler XC” – I had initially looked at the XE variant but the seat height was just too tall for me. So Staffs Triumph let me take out the brand new, and much lower Scrambler X; however, for some reason this model did not set my world alight. So having almost given up on getting a Triumph Scrambler, the sales guy mentioned he had his own XC on site and it was that bit lower than the XE. As soon as I sat on it, I was back in the game, and the search was on to find a new XC. However, having been discontinued in favour of the Scrambler X, it was going to be difficult.
Here is where history repeats itself, as yet again I found my ideal Scrambler elsewhere than my local dealer (Sorry guys). This time it was north of the border in Scotland at West Coast Triumph Glasgow, where a brand new XC was advertised that was far from standard. I was hooked by it’s array of upgrades and like a magpie to a shiny object and just had to have it.

I can honestly say, both Joules and West Coast Triumph offered great support, communication, and service. Which brings me back to the theme of this blog, and the true test of a dealership’s quality can also come after the sale, when you need service and maintenance for your bike. And once again, a Triumph dealership exceeded my expectations in this area, luckily this time it was the wonderful team at Staffordshire Triumph. Whether it’s routine maintenance or more complex repairs, my local Triumph dealer has consistently provided top-notch service. I just hope one day I will buy a bike from them!
Update – I have now purchased a Tiger 1200 Rally Pro from Staffordshire Triumph and was extremely happy with the whole process. (Thanks Dan)
What’s truly remarkable about the above is the level of consistency I’ve experienced across different Triumph dealerships. Despite purchasing my Tiger 900 and 1200 Rally Pro’s and the Scrambler 1200 XC from different locations, I’ve found the same commitment to excellence and passion for the brand at each dealership. It speaks volumes about Triumph’s dedication to providing a superior customer experience, no matter where you are.
I wish that the same could be said for other manufacturers dealerships; at the other end of the scale, my experiences with the likes of BMW dealerships have certainly left a lot to be desired. I won’t go into specifics but let’s just say “they must try harder” if they want to match the likes of Triumph.
So, whether you’re in the market for a new bike or just need a service or tune-up, I highly recommend giving your local Triumph dealership a visit. Who knows, you might just find your next dream bike and a dealership you’ll be proud to call your own.
Let me know your experiences with motorcycle dealerships in the comments below.
Until next time…work hard, ride safe.
