For the past few years, I’ve been creating motorcycle content in the evenings and on weekends under the moniker KILN MOTO, all whilst working full time as a CEO in tech.
At times, it felt like living two lives – wearing two hats (or one helmet, in this case). Balancing both worlds has been exciting, but far from easy. Content creation has been a passion project squeezed into the edges of my week – filming rides, sharing stories, building connections, and trying to capture the spirit of motorcycling, all while juggling the demands of a career and family.
The truth is, creating content around motorcycles isn’t always easy. There’s a fine line between simply enjoying the ride and filming it in a way that’s watchable and meaningful for YouTube, Instagram, and beyond – especially when you’re out riding with friends. Time has often been the biggest limitation, keeping me to sharing only snippets of the experiences I was already having.
But things are changing. A recent shift in my working situation means I can now bring content creation into my everyday life. My long-term goal is to create short films around motorcycling – stories that riders and non-riders alike can connect with. Before I get there, it’s about refining the essentials: getting the best out of my gear, finding my tone, experimenting with storytelling, and above all, keeping everything authentic.
A reminder about the KILN MOTO name – It’s a nod to my home city of Stoke-on-Trent, where pottery kilns once defined the skyline. While only a few of these iconic structures remain today, the kiln has been woven into the city’s identity and its people for hundreds of years. I chose the kiln as inspiration for my brand because it represents both heritage and community – a way to create a recognisable motorcycle identity that isn’t tied solely to me, but to a shared passion rooted in place and people.

I’m excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to share the journey with you. If you love motorcycles, stories, and the freedom of the open road, you’re in the right place.
