In a world where professional photographers wield top-of-the-line cameras and lenses, I find solace in my trusty iPhone. Having travelled with and without a motorbike I’ve always loved trying to get a good picture, but as I embark on more motorbike travels where packing less is best, my iPhone has become my faithful companion in capturing the essence of my journeys.

Let’s be clear here, I’m no photographer by any means. My skills are certainly far from professional, and I am fully aware that photography purists might raise an eyebrow at my attempts. But that’s perfectly okay. I don’t see this as a competition with the pros. Instead, my photography journey is about preserving memories, reliving adventures, and sharing my own perspective with the world.

One of the great joys of traveling by motorcycle is the freedom it affords. With the wind in my hair (I say that as my two close motorcycle friends have no hair) and the open road ahead, I am constantly inspired by the breathtaking landscapes and hidden gems I stumble upon. Whether it’s a desolate stretch of road, a quaint village nestled in the hills, or the vibrant urban streets of a bustling city, I feel compelled to capture these moments.

My iPhone may not be equipped with a plethora of lenses and settings, but it fits the bill perfectly for me. It’s portable, easy to use, and always at hand. The convenience of whipping out my phone to snap a quick photo is a luxury I’ve come to cherish.

Recently, during a motorcycle photography excursion in Manchester with two friends who are significantly better photographers than me, I got a firsthand taste of the benefits of professional gear. Their cameras allowed them to capture shots with exquisite detail and precision. However, I realised that while the tools matter, the essence of a good photograph still lies in the eye of the beholder. I may not have the best equipment, but I am slowly developing an eye for what makes a captivating image.

On this blog, I’ll be sharing a gallery of images that I’ve captured during my motorcycle adventures and on my travels without two wheels. It’s a collection of moments frozen in time, each telling its own story. Whilst most are technically imperfect, they all hold a special place in my heart. I invite you to join me on this visual journey as I share the sights and experiences that have shaped just a few of my travels.

Photography is a personal and evolving art, and whilst I’ve currently chosen to embrace the simplicity of my iPhone, perhaps someday I’ll invest bigger panniers to fit in a high-end camera, but for now, I’m content with the convenience my mobile phone offers.

Just some of my photos

Specifically in the world of motorcycle photography, as I’ve come to know it, is not about perfection, but about relishing the beauty in the imperfections and preserving cherished memories along the way. So, why not join me on my Instagram channel as I enjoy capturing life’s precious moments, one iPhone click at a time.
